Mother’s Wit Inspires
$1,000 Donation to Women’s and Children’s Alliance

Mill Park Publishing of Eagle is donating $1,000 to the Women’s and Children’s Alliance in Boise in support of the organization’s child care programs. The donation comes from proceeds of the sale of the book, Mother Knows Best – Wit and Wisdom from Idaho Moms.

"The book is a delightful compilation of silly and serious words of advice that we've all heard from our mothers," said Elaine Ambrose, author and owner of Mill Park Publishing. "Local author Patti Murphy collected and edited the quotes, and next year we'll publish the sequel that will include quotes from across the country."

The Women’s and Children’s Alliance provides shelter and counseling for women and children who are fleeing domestic or sexual assault. The donation will help fund the on-site child care services for the children of women participating in the residential program.

Mill Park Publishing features local authors, produces books by women for women, and donates a portion of the sales to various local charities. The company won the national 2012 Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) for a book titled Little White Dress – Women Explore the Myth and Meaning of Wedding Dresses. Sales from the sale of Little White Dress enabled Mill Park Publishing to donate $1,000 to Dress for Success Treasure Valley, an organization that provides low-income
women with clothes to wear to job interviews. Find additional information at
